With is much declining crime rate, Charlotte is becoming a safer by each year as the police enforcement is growing. Apartment burglaries happen to be one of the most rare crimes in Charlotte and for most of the time nonexistent.

Also, due to its heavy walking population, the Charlotte Police Department introduced Bike Patrol in 1991 which has become a much efficient and easier way to fight crime. Statistically, this has decreased the crime rate.
